When Bridge Day arrives,on the 3rd weekend of October, the Bridge is closed so people can walk across it and take part in the daylong Festival. Vendors set up booths at each end of the New River Gorge Bridge and sell delicious food, crafts, shirts, cards, and refreshments, while others base jump and rappel from the Bridge,and provide a fantastic entertainment.
